Weird browser behaviour

I'm not getting that one, but this week the main page, every sub-forum, and every open thread (& even the page that I'm typing this in) has a pop-up bar at the top with the message

"Firefox prevented this page from automatically redirecting to another page"

Out of curiosity I allowed it to redirect a sample page & got... the same page! ???

Firefox 6 on XP SP3 if it helps.

Pete.

Yeah, page loading behaviour seems weird, like it sort of completes and then carries on loading some other stuff - the social networking links, maybe? Or ads or something that seems to say "mookie" (it flashes up really quickly then disappears). I also saw something from Amazon getting loaded.

Sounds like we've got some bad Adsense rich-media ad code being served. Usually Google is on this in a matter of hours and bans the company's banners from Adsense.

Here's what I posted in the similar Bug Reports thread:

Next time this happens can you all tell me what banner ads you see on the page? I found this from 2008 - apparently something about the Google Adsense banners can send the page to the bottom. The only solution in 2008 was AdBlock, but if you let me know what banners you're seeing, I'll try blocking them directly in Adsense.

Thanks -

It's stopped doing it now, so if someone's had the back off TB & had a poke about with a screwdriver then it seems to have worked.

If it's any use, attached is a text file copied from AdBlock Plus for this page. The first entry is being blocked (it shows red in the original), I presume the rest are free to graze.

Pete.
