Weird glitch - going "pages deep" in threads

I don't mean multiple pages of the thread itself. Using Firefox. I have been finding many times over the last week or so that after I click on a thread to read it, even if I only look at the first page, when I click the "back" button to go back to "New Posts" search, it doesn't get out, I'm still on the thread. When I click and hold "back" it shows the New posts search as being three or four - or once, today, twelve or fifteen - pages back in my history, even though I only ever clicked to look at one page of the thread. Doesn't happen to the search results, only threads, and I haven't seen anything like this happening on any other websites I visit so far.

When you click and hold the back button, what fills it the list? More copies of the thread you clicked?

yes, exactly. Like, three pages of all the same thing. So you click "back" but it looks like it just refreshed the page.

Weird, never seen anything like that reported before! Huh. Well, a good place to start would be clearing Firefox's cookies, cache, and browsing history, and see if that fixes the glitch. If not let me know and I'll look into it further. Do you know which version of Firefox you're running?

Will have to check when I get home. Will let you know.

@hrodbert696 The next time this happens, can you copy the URL of the page from which you try to go 'back'? In other words if you hit "back" and it doesn't work, copy the URL from your address bar and post it here. Thanks!

Will do. I haven't been using Firefox the last few days, and it isn't happening in other browsers.
