When I am plugged into different outlets throughout the house and playing through different amps, I pick up this very annoying crackling static type of sound (RFI?). My American Deluxe Jazz Bass is the most sensitive to it, but it affects my other basses and guitars too. Most have humbucking pickups in them. It isn't 60-cycle hum, from what I can tell. I've checked to see if it might be LED lights, dimmer switches, computer, etc. I'm thinking that it might be something being generated from outside the house that I'm picking up. This happens all day until every night at right around 7:45. Then, it suddenly stops and for the rest of the night my instruments, including the j-bass, are dead quiet.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Do you know what it could possibly be?
