Weird string buzz phenomenon - help

Hey, I’m still newer to bass, so be kind if the answer to this question is obvious.
I’m learning some songs for an upcoming set, and in one song I play 7the fret E string and 7th fret G string. When I do, the G string makes an awful buzz. If I lift my finger off the E string the buzz stops immediately.
Thoughts?

It's called back buzz. The E string is rattling on the frets behind where you are playing. You need to damp the E string behind where you are fretting.

You might be able to help it a bit by adding tad more relief or by shimming the nut a hair.
