Wow! Was watching this over on Feebay, and it sold today for dirt cheap...hope a TB'er landed it...A sweet HH lava Pearl Bongo 4 for $643.33 + only $25 shipping from a music store....SCORE for someone....
I have this same Bongo, Same color and paid a good deal more.....
It is amazing how these deals happen along here and there....Always have to be on the watch.

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

According to Guitar Centre, Bongo's don't have much resale value D:

Maybe so... but ALL of GC'c used Bongos are listed at over $1000.

I also watched the eBay Bongo go for less than $700 but I had no funds in my GAS tank.

I hear ya about what GC sells them for...
I think they tell people wanting to trade one in "they do not have good resale" then turn around and charge over $1,000 + for it after stealing it for $450 on trade...hahahah!!
I do not put stock in much of anything anyone at a GC tells me regardless.

I have seen a good number of Bongos in nice shape sell here on TB for over a grand too, they usually do.
Color has A LOT to do with it. Also the HS pup and H pup configs are less common than the HH in Bongos I have found.
thus making them often sell faster.

You lucky guys. Bongos sell for so much here in France and they are not much present on the market.
One'll have to pay over 1900€ ($2600) to get a new Bongo 4 from the store.
I only can see three bongos for sale on the classifieds here and they are listed between 1500€ ($2055) and 1800€ ($2466) !!

I got mine from an US bassist, had to pay for overseas shipping and about 25% more for duty taxes and it still beat the prices we have here.

Haha I paid VAT for mine too. Shipped it from Florida to the UK when I bought it. I'm in the US now and instruments are much cheaper here cause they don't slap VAT's on instruments.

Will be joining soon! Bongo 5 HH Sapphire Black/Black Pearl (new) on its way. Im in the UK so no, they arent cheap, however, the price was excellent due to the amount of business Ive had with the store.

Im anxious and nervous about it! But, I love EBMMs, so Im sure ill bond.

I actually think the design is stunning. Very very odd, but modern.

Congrats on finding a good price.
I like the whole design background of the Bongo too.
The BMW and EBMM joining turned out very unique and striking.
The color you mentioned is a great combination too.
I have a Sapphire Black/Black Pearloid color combo on one of my Stingrays.
I know this is a Bongo thread, But here is the pic of the ray showing that color combo. Looks great together...especially with the Ebony fretboard. Just wish it had a matching headstock :(
Enjoy your new toy!! :bassist:

After months and months of looking at threads like these, I have finally gotten my very own Bongo. It is amazing, and I can only imagine how itll play after it gets a proper setup. It's a sapphire black finish but it came out really blue in the shots I took of it outside.

There was a few thread on the EBMM forums with pictures. No idea if they are very close or indeed a fair way off, (obviously they want to get it right!).

I think the Bongo looks good as it is, but, innovation is welcome :)

I thought I hear on the EBMM forum that they may be shown at NAMM but I am not totally for sure on that?

Hmm... I wasn't notified of your message. Soory for the late reply. You are club member #138. Welcome! :)

BTW, what's the story with new tuners? Could you share a link with some info on the topic? thanks :)

Here's something on the topic courtesy of the EBMM forum...

Did you say "Winter NAMM"? Say it now if you didn't before. "Winter NAMM."
