It's a BTB!

It's an Ibanez BTB805MS, in the transparent gray finish. My search for a 5-string, fanned fret, multiscale bass that is not headless ended in me picking up this beast.

Surprisingly versatile and enjoying it a lot so far!

Thankfully I was wrong…It could've been worse. It could've been a Weedwhacker but instead you have a beautiful brand new five string bass that you will cherish for years to come

Very cool, congrats on the bass! Am I the only one that's eyed the BTB basses for like 20 years and NEVER seen one in a store to play but of course you can find tons of soundgear basses at any store.

Return it, the frets have not been installed correctly. Strange that this has passed the quality control.

Same. They are abundant online but I never saw one in person. Had to take a chance and order it to try it out. Lucky for me it plays and sounds great.

I wanted the 6 but never found one in stock anywhere for the right money, then an SRMS806 fell into my lap for a too good to refuse price, so my MS hunger has abated for a while.

Please let us know what you think once you've had some time to acclimatise to it, and I hope you'll report it's awesome and you love it.

They pack their basses so well. Unlike many other manufacturers I've gotten basses from overseas.

I have the 605MS, it's great, I get a really good set up on mine. My drummers and sound guys compliment it, which speaks volumes.

An FYI, I accidentally discovered that the extra-long scale TI Jazz flats will just barely fit (designed for 36'').
I needed to unravel the 'B' silk a touch. I then burned/melted it a bit to control the unravelling, a trick I learned from my mom, who makes clothes (you are supposed to melt and not burn, but I liked the charred look)
