What advantages does Maple have over Rosewood?

I own basses that have rosewood and maple, but I prefer maple. I think the maple stands out in terms of looks. Although rosewood has a warmer sound, the maple has a little more punch to it. Either way it's just a matter of preference.

I have 2 basses with rosewood and 4 with maple. My first bass had maple. I prefer the look of rosewood over maple but that was as far as it went until I finally got the two with rosewood.

I like the feel of rosewood more then maple. Its softer and smoother to me. Now that I think about it my rosewood board basses do have a darker sound to them. I don't mind either one though so its no biggie ^_^
