What amp should I get?

I'm currently using the Ashdown Little Giant 1000, and it just doesn't seem to have 1000w of power. I've got an Ampeg 410HE and a GK Backline 210, what head should I be looking at?

I am assuming they are both 8 Ohm cabs and you are running both on their own out put? If so then you are really only looking at ~500 watts of power. On top of that the 210 is going to hold your 410 back.

A few things that may help. First of all make sure your gain is up enough. Push it up until you are seeing the clip light flash red then back it down just a tad. Dont let your lows go over noon. Bump up your low mids for punch. Bump up your high mids for more sonic space in the mix.

You have an incredibly powerful amp, its not your limiting factor.

Agreed, your problem is the speakers, not the amp. And also agree, running a 410 and 210 together is a bad idea, especially both being 8 ohm cabs. You want two 4 ohm 4x10's IF you want full power, but be careful, not many 4x10's can actually handle that much power.

The Ashdown LG 1000 is not a 1000 watt amp at all. It is a 500 watt amp into 4 ohms double sided.

And it's not a two channel amp either.

If you have four 8 ohm cabs (two 8 ohms cabs add up to a 4 ohm load) you can run two in the right side of the amp and two into the left side of the amp(the inputs for this setup is on the back).

You will then have 500 watt coming from the left and 500 watts coming from the right side.

Ashdown endorser.

So for clarity then..
If you have 2x 8ohm speakers cabs (one each side) you would still be running at 8 ohms total impedence and powering about 300 watts a side..
And if you were to add another 2x8 ohm cabs to either side totalling 4x ohm cabs you would get the full 500 watts aside..
They seem a very cheap amp are they any good??? Is it worth having one for a back up at that price.. I mean £200 whole English pounds or bout $300 surely they can't real or trust worthy..

2 x 8-Ohm in parallel = 4! This head should be able to drive two 4-Ohm cabinet sets.
