Carvin BK50A kit. Alder body, maple neck with birdseye maple board with MOP diamond shaped inlays. Chrome hardware. Should be here in around 2 weeks or so. Haven't decided on a color yet, but I'm leaning toward a transparent blue.
In the next few months I'd like to get a Warwick 5 string bass. Either a Corvette or a Star bass. Most likely from the Pro series unless I find a German one at a good price. If I suddenly came into a bunch money, I'd get a Cataldo JAEbird 5 string bass.
My 2013 short list, wishlist is:
1. F Bass BN6, Trans Blue NPF finish
2. EBMM Bongo HH 6
3. Steve Bailey signature: either a used Fender Fretless 6 or his new Warwick Artist/Proline Fretless 6
4. Ibanez Gerald Veasley budget model GVB36
5. Fender Pawn Shop Bass VI, Black with Tort pickguard
Whether or not it will actually get to be my next purchase, I sampled an MIM Precision bass that I would love to have. If not that one, my next purchase will be a P bass of some kind, likely a Squier, if I can't swing the Fender.
Warmoth (or my own build) slab bodied P, with some interesting mods. I really want a Jazz bass but don't like the shape, so I'm gonna do a "tele J", but first, a slab P.
All of my basses are P's right now, the tele style, so to make a P with Jazz pickups with a tele style guard would be cool. Just gotta work out the design to make it look right.
My slab P will be a reverse headstock like the Dusty version.
Looks like it might be a Spector NS2 for me... Don't know much about them, but they look kinda cool - and different from the dozen or so Fenders I've got in the stable...
A cheap Essex-style Jazz Bass, or another one of their six-strings. One, I don't have a Jazz bass and I want one for a frankenproject, two, I already have one of their six-strings so I want to have another one and go fretless.
