What bass do you think could get me this tone?

I dunno, but to me it sounds like there maybe is some subtle effect usage going on.. maybe a chorus or something. The first part sounds alot more shimmery then the endig IMO

Just my guess..

Edit: but as far as basses go, I would put my money on something active.

I can probably hear two distinct tones there...

The first one could be a fretless with some chorus and heavy on the mids. The second tone is more scooped with plenty of highs, a Stingray comes to mind...

Nice playing...

I'd say a single coil or maybe a stacked humbucker at the bridge going straight into the board? Sounds direct to me whatever it is.

I suppose it could be a Stingray, tho the MM humbucker is pretty fat with more high mids than this. My Bunny definitely can't get this out of its humbucker (too "full" sounding with lots more upper mids). Maybe if I'd ordered it with a coil-splitting switch?

I think Kwesi's guess of a Ken Smith is pretty close also. KS's give this same solid, clean, machine-like sound.

Don't think this is a fretless tho, the notes sound more like a fretted to me.
