What bass is this (John Patitucci)?

It is a custom build for him and there was a write up in Bass Player a while back. Looks nice but the weight was around 14 lbs!!!!! My back won't take that any more. I'd like a 5 string version that weighs less than 10 lbs.

You're talking about the black bass, right? That's the one that I was talking about, not the semi acoustic that shows up in the preview picture.
Take a look at the headstock at 7:31 - that doesn't look like any Yamaha logo I have ever seen. Can't read it but it looks like a name. Interesting with the foam strip next to the bridge.

They are both yamaha.
The black one has the BB headstock but the shape of the body, the pickguard and the jazz pickups are diferent from every other yamaha models that I know of. And I don't see any references or pictures of Patitucci with it outside of these recent videos with his quartet.
In fact, the body reminds me of the Aria Pro II Steve Bailey Model that came out in the nineties.
