From the mid 70's till the mid 80's Kramer had theee worst bass ever!! Aluminum neck with Ebony and or Rosewood fretboard. The neck was insanely heavy and god forbid if there was a temperature change, forget about staying in tune! If you liked a bass that weighed as much as a 69 Volkswagen Beetle, more power to ya! I wonder why the hippie at guitar center took $ 125.00 off!! " Jim, get rid of these P.O.S. Kramer ASAP!!" Ok. Done with my diatribe. What bass should have never seen the light of day.

reminds me of the story about mick karn literally abandoning his fretless Travis bean for a wal mid album because the tuning was so unstable due to temperature change ...that also had an aluminum neck.

ps ...how long will it take before somebody mentions the custom shop bass of doom?

I appreciate your candor. It's my hope the balance of responses focuses on those instruments with irreparable design...or aesthetic...faults and shortcomings. Details and observations are appreciated!

I doubt there's such a thing as a bass that should never have been created. With all the diverse needs, tastes, preferences, etc, I can't imagine the most insane, bizarre, out-of-this-world Bass NOT finding a home of some kind…

(not MY home, but one gets the idea…:D)

I'll probably have to hide after this....but (at least to me) the BC Rich Warlock....

I STUPIDLY bought one in the middle 80s - played in for about a week and sold it. Good lord what a hot mess that was...

Absolutely anything and everything ever produced by EBMM, for the sole reason that if the company never existed my mortgage would have been paid off many years ago and I could finally afford and own that zircon-encrusted backscratcher.
