Becoming more interested in the corny AOR that is REO Speedwagon, and since I posted recently about Bruce Hall using a pick, I decided to ask what strings he used? My guess is that they were D'Addario flatwound strings, which combined with a pick, creates a deep bass tone. I think Greg Philbin used a pick and some flatwound too.

Bruce mostly uses a cream Fender Jazz Bass named Butter that he bought from Greg Philbin, but he has also used a Fender Telecaster bass as well as several Gibson basses through Ampeg amps. But if anyone has info on what strings he used please let me know.

I would like to add that REO Speedwagon is supposed to perform at Ameris Bank Ampitheatre in Atlanta next summer. They are opening up for Loverboy and Styx, and I really want to get tickets!
