What did you eat for breakfast??

One banana
three eggs scrambled(minus two yolks) with onions, bell peppers, and cheese
two slices of Daves Killer Bread Good Seed
one 32 ounce glass of water.
Currently working on a triple Americano. After years and years of eating junk for breakfast, it feels good to be eating healthier now.

How ( or why, if it's not too personal to ask ) did ya make the change Mike? The reason I ask is I have zero ( and I mean that honestly ) appetite. I don't get hungry and it's hard to force myself to eat when I don't feel like it. My doc tells me it's as bad, if not worse than over eating, but I've been this way now about 8 years. Yesterday I had a cup of coffee, a plain chicken sandwich ( meat / bread ) from Mikey D's dollar menu and an iced tea when I got home. That's it. My biggest struggle right now is food.

Ok, I didn't ( or don't, rather ) do much better. I'm not a breakfast person by and large unless I'm camping. A cup of coffee and occasionally ( ok rarely ) a banana.

In my own defense here, I only had the fudgesicle because I'm out of chocolate ice cream. Ice cream has a much higher dairy content, and when coupled with a cone and a multi-vitamin it is a legitimate substitute for a bowl of sugar-laden vitamin-fortified cereal in milk. And it taste better. :-)

That is an awesome breakfast! That's the kind of breakfast I would make for myself if it weren't for the laziness inside of me

I hear you. For over 10 years I never made the time to eat a good breakfast, so ended up eating on the run, oatmeal, toast, sometimes nothing. It only takes 10 minutes to prepare all that food and another five or 10 to eat it. I do it while I am reading the day text. :D

Start off trying it once or twice a week, get up an extra 15 minutes early on those mornings. When you start to see the difference in how you feel and work on the days you eat a good breakfast compared to the days you didn't, you'll want to get up every morning on your own because you'll remember the benefits of doing so. Our bodies are simple, and will learn to crave even more the activities we do to make it feel better. After a couple weeks, you'll be doing it every day without even thinking about it. Kind of like how you do it now, you probably don't even think about it, it's so routine.

Sounds familiar. My usual is 3 egg whites and half a yolk beaten with half a cup of cooked brown rice and fried in olive oil like a frittata. Sometimes rice gets substituted with asparagus or spinach with a little feta, then I add wheat bread. Eating healthy does make you feel better. :-)

Please consider that recipe stolen, it sounds delightful!

As for me, breakfast was porridge with cinnamon and raisins. Top stuff.

Good point. I will try to think of it that way; that oughta force me to get up earlier and cook enough times that it becomes a habit.

Wow, a couple of great sounding recipes in here. I had an egg mcmuffin and a small OJ this morning (I usually have water). I was pleasantly surprised at how the egg mcmuffin's nutritional info compared to some of the junk I had been eating for breakfast. I've never been a terrible eater but just recently have really tried to crack down and watch labels. I am another one who sleeps until the very last minute so it is difficult to wake up early enough to fix a decent breakfast. I am going to try it, like stated above, one or two days a week and go from there.

Oooh, a Breakfast Thread!

This morning was:

* 4 scrambled eggs with about 1/8th pound of cheddar cheese and a liberal amount of hotsauce
* homemade whole wheat bread with blueberry preserves
* unsweetened iced tea

This only takes about 5 minutes to prepare. What takes a while is eating it (okay, eating it takes about 3 minutes) - watching strongman competitions on the youtube takes a while!

I will second Mike - you really do notice the difference in how you feel for the rest of the day just by eating a filling, nutritional breakfast in the morning

I love unsweetened tea! And homemade bread huh? Looks like we'll need a bread thread :D

A bowl of Raisin Nut Bran with rice milk. (My body doesn't like too much dairy.) Later, I stopped at Au Bon Pain by the office and grabbed a fruit cup.

I'm not a morning person, so getting up earlier to cook on work days doesn't appeal to me at all. And I dunno about this 5-10 minutes to cook eggs--you have to heat up the pan for 10-15 minutes first.:)
Bowl of oatmeal
Oatmeal with a little brown sugar, My breakfast everyday, Monday thru Friday.
Oatmeal with Greek yogurt, grapes, and a full French press.
I had no idea oatmeal was so popular (never cared for it myself). And am I the only one here who eats cereal for breakfast?

LOL, I need rationalization skills like that.;) There are other cereals besides Cap'n Crunch and Cocoa Puffs.:D

Granted, I've never been a coffee drinker, but the idea of coffee on an empty stomach with no breakfast makes me want to double over in pain.
