What do you TB'ers do for a living??

Geologist.

Not the fun study earthquakes and volcano types you see on PBS though.

Enviromental geology doing soil and groundwater sampling. Digging up old gas stations. Contaminant plume studies. Writing long and pointless reports.

Maybe that's why my posts here are usually so short. I'm already half burned out on writing stuff.

BSEE(Tulane University) decades ago and then 20+ years doing instrumentation and controls engineering at a large petrochem complex(aka solve problems and make stuff work). Very similar to hooking up a PA, mics, mixer, etc. in the construction stage and startups at petrochems are like LONG soundchecks.

I manage the development, design, engineering and manufacturing, local and overseas, of new products for our clients. Mostly audio electronics, but have done everything from garden products to sex toys (as mentioned above).

I also like to take apart a new purchase even before I have used it.

I'm a Software Support Engineer for IBM. I work out of my home office which is nice because I don't have to pay for gas. Every day I deal with irate and panicked high end customers so it gets a little complicated and stressful at times. I suppose my job will eventually be off-shored as that seems to be general trend these days. On the positive side I'm 59 so maybe by the time that happens I'll be one step closer to retirement.

Someday I hope to play music full time rather than have just three weekend gigs a month.
