I wouldn't say it's great but a fair deal provided everything is in good condition, the amp works and the case is functional. As it's already been said the ad is worthless without pictures.
The price is about standard for what I see on craigslist. A bit higher than what you might see here. Still, these basses can be good players. I have one I bought locally from a guy for $350 & modded w/ Barts that's one of my favorite basses. I spent money on the electronics & a good setup & came out of it with a bass I wouldn't sell.
A fair warning. I tried a MIM J-Bass at a gig. I borrowed it from a pawn shop. Yeah, that's right. I played it at a gig. Once.... Just once. (Quote: Joe Piscopo in "Johnny Dangerous") Yes,that's an 80's (early 80's,kids.) flick,FYI.
(If you need a good laugh. No,a great laugh. Youtube it,guys/gals. It'll be worth your while,guys/gals. Trust me....)
Oh.Almost forgot,Mr.OP. If I ONLY knew how to do B-O-L-D,D-A-R-K lettering:
It needs new pups and/or a pre!!! REALLY BAD!! It had new strings, too. But,dull as a few chicks I've been with back in th' day (of course!!).
