What effect does flea use on his solo on "power of equality"

Im sure it's already been covered on talkbass, but does anybody know what effect flea used on his slap solo portion of "power of equality" Im sure its some type of envelope filter, but i was wondering specifically what brand he used, like boss, dod, e.h. etc... thanks for any information...

No worries, just want to make sure people get the answers they're looking for.

If you do pick up an FX25 just be careful, it can put out some huge volume spikes. A good compressor helps.

And while not exactly the same, if you're looking for something similar to that sound the MXR Bass Envelope Filter cops very similar tones and is worth checking out. The separate blends for wet and dry keep it in the mix better than the DOD and it has much better bypass and construction quality.

Also, they aren't as good for bass as a modern envelope filter like an Enigma Q-balls. I had one back in the day, and in addition to nasty volume spikes, they also suck bass when they sweep into the upper register. The problem is that they only work in bandpass mode, while you want to use an envelope filter with a lowpass mode if you are playing bass through it.

Or at least a bandpass filter with a clean blend, which is why I recommended the MXR.
