What Genre?

I'll guess. Jazz-punk.

Now I'll listen.

Hmm... Definitely not Jazz-punk. Lite-rock? It's like 60s-70s pop, a little, but with a little bit of the 90s minimalism. I think Lite-rock is the closest you'll get. It would be more easily definable if it had a guitar. Guitars really paint a nice genre. Do you have a drummer? Those cymbal hits sound oddly the same every time.

Nice Bass licks, too, by the way. :)

LOL! The drummer is my old lady. Indeed a real person. No compression or effects used.

wow. I am thoroughly impressed. It sounds very very good! Kudos!

So, it is two people with bass, drums and piano? Sounds like at least 3-4 note chords... that some pretty amazing talent you'll must have for a live performance. ;)

Hold.. I really think I want to listen to this again.. maybe I'll try and piece who you sound like...

First listen was curiosity.
Second listen for deep analysis
Third listen because I liked
xD

I actually have a hard time figuring this out. Vocals have this weird hybrid of Elton John and Bowie, but mixed with someone else that I cannot figure out. The piano groove helps the Elton John idea. As for genre, I really cant define one. Good job!

EDIT: For some reason, I hear a tad pinch of King's of Leon. Hmm...

Thanks so much guys! This is the most input we've had. We have been showing our tunes to friends and family and...*crickets*.

I'll think we'll go with Indie pop/rock for now. Lite rock sounds very Kenny G/Michael Bolton to me (both very talented, but not what we're shooting for). =)

We are recording everything ourselves, and there is a BIG learning curve, but we hope to have an album done by late fall. It really helps to get feedback and we appreciate it very much!

Cheers!
