So I've got this project I'm collecting the parts for-5 string fretless Warmoth Jazz and I'm a passive electronics type of guy.
The Control plate issue is giving me multiple headaches. So far as I can tell, the only drop in plates that offer "vintage" style parts and wiring are VVT oriented, 250k/250k with the orange drop capacitor.
After doing multiple searches, it seems the '61/'62 jazz basses had two stacked knobs and the top jack, and different capacitors.
Since the '61/'62 jazz bass sound is so holy grail why cant I find aftermarket shops offering a drop in control plate with the ORIGINAL vintage config?
The more i research the bigger the headache gets...
