What is the time limit for making edits

Recently I made a post where I uploaded some images as attachments but decided notto use all of them. I forgot to actually delete the ons that didn’t appear in the text so they were still showing as thumbnails. When I got a notification about recations I went back to see them and noticed my error, but I could no longer edit or delete the post. I filed a report asking the mods to delete the thumbnails and it was rejected. OK, I’ll accept that but I’d like to know how long after a post is made that edits are no longer allowed. When was this change made? I recall in the past seeing the Edit and Delete links being there for months, if not forever.

I dont know what the window if opportunity for editing posts is, but it's not very long. I don't like that feature at all.

@brianrost - I think it's something around 1500 minutes, I don't like it. I'm also a member of the Ukulele Underground forum, which uses the same forum app. They don't limit the time an edit can be made, there's never been a problem with that. Too often, even when I proof read my post, I find a typo or some error later, but the time limit prevents me from correcting it.
