Double Bass What is this symbol?

Please help me identify what this symbol is on sheet music. It looks like a type of fermata but I have never seen one with eye shadow makeup on. ;-)

Looks like the Jazz font used in various apps. The classical/normal font looks like what you’re probably used to.

Yep, that's it. Been reading those charts since - oh, I don't know, the late 90s, when computer music software became commonly available.

On the plus side, computer typesetting has reduced the incidence of totally unreadable charts. On the minus side, the transpositions for Bb and Eb instruments can be buggy and result in strange stuff. The worst was one that I don't really know what they did wrong but everything was a double flat or double sharp and I think some were intended to be triple flats and triple sharps. I finally realized that I was going to have to treat it as a "kit", and once I did that and used my ear to tell me what notes to play and the chart to tell me the rhythms, I got along a lot better.
