What is this thing?

I came across this today in a local pawn shop. Really cool purple sparkle, but I've never seen one of these before. Is it just some guys project or something else?

A better shot of the headstock would help but I'm guessing an Ibanez SR of some sort.
Thank you for the reply. It looks to me similar to an Aria Pro headstock on a bass my wife had several years ago when she was just learning. It was massive and way too big for her. She found a Mustang a few months after starting to learn and from then on it was short scale only. Which explains why it caught my eye. For $180 I may just grab it for her.

I think it’s an Ibanez Mikro with a custom truss rod cover and homemade finish.
I will check it out Monday when I go by again but I think you're likely right. They made it a string thru if it was though. I'll get more pics if I don't buy it. Her nickname is Bean (as in woman in Gaelic) so the headstock works too. They're asking $225 but I got the guy to $180 so maybe will just get it.
Thanks for the reply. Ill update you all Monday.

After further review, I don’t think it’s a Mikro. The number of frets and where the bass side of the body meets the neck is different. It does look a ton like an Ibanez GSR, but it’s has three knobs. I have looked all over online for a match, and this is bothering me, so I hope we get a definitive update 🤣

Ahh got it. In MD myself now. Anyway, the place was getting ready to close so couldn't pull pickups.

I think your probably right. Its very lightweight and the finish is well done. I took my wife along as she's the bass player, she said If the neck wasn't separated from the fingerboard she'd have made an offer. Too bad it's a set neck. Thanks for the input here.
