What is your band's goal?

BTW, reading this thread has been great. Fame, fortune and fun seem to be the three themes - but reading someone say, "Lead singer should learn the words/structure to songs" just makes me appreciate my own musical situation.

I too would like to perform more (this thread is helping me realize that). If my guitarist continues to be so shy, I'm going to have to find some way of inducing him not to be (he's really good, he's just a perfectionist).

We need a "We want to perform more club" on TB. Also, I was thinking it would be fun to have a "Started playing again after 20 years club" or sumpin.

It was about 25 years for me but it included a long overdue switch to bass. I started on guitar :hiding:

Yeah, can I have some input on the name of the club? I just want this subtle change: "Started playing again after 20 years..and that aging thing? It's true" club.

I get the craziest ideas, I guess from drinking too much coffee, but I love them. I thought about using $80 dollar "EX (Exxex") Strat copies and if only I could get my band to just deal with my insanity, I would do a Patsy Cline remake of "I'll fall to pieces" then smash my $80 guitar, keeping my straight face. If anybody asked me about it, I'd say "I just didn't like the color". I love adding the entertainment aspect to a show and it would be a huge complement to me if I heard "That dude in the band needs help".

I'm not in a band right now, but, back in my last band, my goal was basically to be in my own favourite band.

Sure, we had aspirations of getting signed, big tours and so on (and did some of it), but, in the end, it was all about the music and creating stuff we could be proud of. :) I think we succeeded.
