What is your favorite Jimmy Haslip tune?

I've been aware of him since the Gino Vanelli Brother to Brother album, but only lately have I paid more attention to him. I have a few Yellowjackets CDs and I hear that he is now also playing with Jeff Lorber.
He used to play fretless but he now seems to be playing fretted mostly. it sounds like he has some type of effect on all the time.Is that right?
Anyway I'm sure there are some Haslip fans here. What are your favorite tunes that he plays on and also which ones have good bass solos?

Jimmy is awesome. I first came in contact with him on "Brother to Brother" and I'm still blown away at how awesome his playing is on that album.

I prefer his stuff with Holdsworth in general over the Yellowjackets. PHENOMENAL player; wayyyy overlooked by most for some odd reason.

Jimmy is a great player and one of the nicest cats you'd ever want to meet.

Check out Blues for Tony (Holdsworth, Alan Pasqua, Jimmy, Chad Wackerman)... burning stuff!

Also, the live Yellowjackets albums (25 and Mint Jam) are the best ones for Jimmy fans IMHO. Jimmy gets a lot more blowing time live.

Hard to choose, but I've always loved his solo on "Motet" from the Mint Jam CD. I actually transcribed it, and it literally contained every concept we talked about in a lesson.

I'm a huge fans of yellowjackets, have all of their albums.

My personal favorites are Evening News (Mint Jam and Club Nocturne), Man Facing North (like a river), Azure Moon (like a river), Cape town & Savannah (both from Blue hats)

but of course there are tons of great playing within his yellowjackets repertoire, but these are songs that I listen to when I need some inspiration

A great player. But nobody here mentionned that he plays left handed with a right hand bass. Yep, with the strings upside down. Makes him even more special.

I agree w/the two Yellowjacket live discs, I've always wanted to see him live and both of these shows have some great moments.

Not entirely off topic but I really love his sideman (not up front and soloing) work. He is great on both of these recordings which are always on my playlists.
