what kind of switch do I need?

I need to replace this on-on pick-up switch in my passive Hondo bass (2 pickups). The switch has 2 positions (on-on), and 6 contact points for wiring. Can someone ID a correct replacement? Thanks.

I read on TB that Hondo's are not well regarded, but I think it plays quite well.

That looks like a series/parallel switch?

Use a DPDT On-On mini toggle.

Radioshack *might* sell these. They used to carry a lot more than they do now.

Any local electronics store should have one, though.

If you want to buy one online, most guitar parts dealers have these, as they are the most common type of mini toggles used on guitars. StewMac, GuitarPartsResource and BestBassGear come to mind off hand. Ebay will have many, as well.

Thanks. I located some on the interwebs ranging from $7 to $20. Some are rated at 2amp, whereas the original is a 3amp. Should I stick with the 3amp, or have my bass assplode on me?

The current of the signal flowing through the switch will be about a million times less than that rating.
