What Music Means to you

I got this question in my Music Theory Theory class and it got me thinking:
Obviously we are all musicians so we all like/enjoy music. The question is what does music mean to you? What are some songs that you like and what do say about you?
Hard question right?
I would enjoy to hear what you guys have to say in response to these questions. Thanks!

I have a mind that has been described as "genius", "gifted", and "scary smart". I don't really buy into any of those descriptions, I prefer "chaotic". I've always got a cacophony of thoughts, ideas, memories, calculations, strategies, and general "noise" floating around up there. According to my parents, listening to music was the only thing that could calm me down when I was young. Now that I'm an adult, playing music is my own personal way of focusing my thoughts. I suppose if I had to describe my personal relationship with music in a single word it would be "peace".

When I was a teenager, playing my bass all day and night after school meant a hobby and a nice diversion and kept me off the street. Now that I'm
an adult and a professional musician, it means a way to make money and pay my bills. It was my hobby as a youngster. Now it's my job. I rarely touch the darn bass unless I'm working.
