What non-musical items do you keep in your case?

I did a search but couldn't find what I was looking for. So if this has been done before, I apologize.


I always keep a set of nail clippers in my case. I cant tell you how many times I get to a gig, and just before sound check I realize that my nails are too long to play comfortably. I also keep my dope in there so I don't forget where I put it.

So what do you got in your case that isn't directly related to your instrument/show?

If you don't use it to make music, or you don't use it as part of the show. Maybe I should have been more specific.

Well in that case (no pun intended), I keep paper and a pen for last minute changes to the set list, ideas, or to communicate before the show without having to yell in a bandmate's ear.

BTW, I also carry nail clippers for the same reason, but they stay in my pocket.

I usually bring my digital camera with extra batteries and recruit a friend as photographer for the night. Friends love this, it makes them feel like part of the band.

Let's see... a pair of cheap dime store reading glasses, some Advil, extra car key are the first things that come to mind.

Don't know what state you live in but that would be probably the first place the cops would search if you were pulled over for a driving violation.

well it is decriminalized where i live. but i dont put it in there to hide it. its just so i remember where it is. i realize all the risks im taking and i am smart about smoking. and honestly the cops where i live truly dont care. the most i ever have on me is a quarter ounce which is not worth the time for the police to do anything. the worst i ever had happen was they took my dope and broke my pipe.

I'm gonna add the camera for electric gigs.

Nothing goes in the instrument case but the instrument, a tuner and strap.

The rest is tools and earplugs. I carry a bag full of tools, including duct tape (I'm too cheap to buy gaffer tape) for securing cables.
