I’ve been happy with the Dunlop Max Grip in 1mm. Gives some texture to grip and they hold up pretty well. Kind of wish they came in brighter colors like the Tortex because they can be easy to not see in dimmer lighting.

It all depends on how you hold it. With two fingers, three fingers, tight between the thumb and index finger, loose by letting it do its job without forcing, etc. There are many ways to hold a pick and strike a string, and each time it produces a different sound.
I switch between these and the Tortex .73 mm picks for what I do. Can't complain about either of themAbout methods of holding.
I use Jim Dunlop .73 mm picks

and either I hold it "guitar style" to use the point

or (more often) use one the other corners with a looser hold for more thump

I'm primarily a bass player but I play guitar too. I like them thick and the 2mm or 3mm Jim Dunlop Big Stubbys have been my preference but recently I made a couple from some 2mm sheet that I bought to make a pick guard. They work very well after roughing up the surface a bit fore better grip. I play bass with my fingers and I don't like the sharpness of a pick on bass. These don't have so much click so I've started using one for a new song added to our set list .I’m primarily a guitar player but play bass and use a pick mostly.
currently using my guitar picks up would like to get some larger bass picks. Any suggestions? I play stuff in the Shellac, Tool, Austerity Program, Don Caballero vein and sound, bass wise.
I like this one, but slightly prefer the standard shape in 2.0 mm; I believe 1.5 mm is the thickest Prime Tone triangle. The 2.5 and 3.0 mm picks are just a little too much of a good thing. I've been doing a bit of experimentation over the past few weeks after using Gravity picks for a while (because they came free with pedals from my favourite shop, Pedal Empire in Brisbane, Australia). 2.0 mm seems to be the sweet spot for me; I also like the Ultex Jazz III in this thickness and also the nylon Big Stubby, but the bevelled edge on the Prime Tone seals it. That said, I have some Jazz Tones and an Ultex sharp on their way (all 2.0 mm), so we'll seeDunlop Primetone triangles (the big ones).View attachment 7474203
