It says 400, but those are British watts so really it’s closer to 1000.

IMO, It all depends on application. For years my little GK400RB was plenty. Either with one or two cabs. But as the rooms got bigger, and the rest of the bands got louder, I needed more.
Rule of thumb, always bring more than you need.
But many guys go direct, use IED, play thru a little combo, or go crazy stupid like me depending on what your personal band situation is.

i have had one of these 400 is what it says and close to 400 is what you get.

I am with you on the Eden WTDI. Makes any amp sound like an Eden and has allowed me to down size considerably. I got rid of my Eden WT-550, even though it was USA made, would take a 2 ohm load and sounded so musical. I don't miss the weight of 550. I run the WTDI through the effects return on amps that have a built-in preamp and also have an effects loop. I usually run my WTDI through an Acoustic Image Focus I Series III that runs 1000 watts into 2 ohms...great little amp.

Not sure if RMS or peak...? Also totally depends on the sensitivity of your cab(s). A 400 watt amp into a cab with 101dB/w/m will actually be (a tiny bit) louder than a 1,000 watt amp into a 97dB/w/m cab.

I ran an Eden Nemesis NA320 (320w RMS / no peak rating that I can find, but probably about 600w) into my Ampeg 410HLF (98dB/w/m) for a while tapped it out a few times. I sold my Eden Nemesis, bought a big Eden WT because I liked the sound of my Nemesis, but never could dial in a sound that I really liked out of the WT, so I sold that after a month and bought a Markbass F1 (500w RMS / 1,000w peak). It sounded great, so I ran it into the same Ampeg cab and never needed any more power.

I've always found 3-500 watts to be just fine. I'm currently using an MB500 and sometimes I work it pretty hard but that's because I'm using a small and not very efficient 'super' cab.
