What should I do?

Hey guys, i've got a question.For now I'm using a BOSS M-50B pedalboard, but I want to change this and buy single effects.I'm not expert in this range, so...What should I buy??
Consider that these days i'm playing a lot of Arctic Monkeys and also bands like Okkervil River and Coldplay with my band, but i need also something for Iron Maiden, Metallica, Protest The Hero and similar stuff.
Advices??

there are a ton of good pedals out there, grab your axe and go to a good local store and have some fun, you might find something cool that nobody has tried that way too

What are the effects you liked most and fit most your style with the Boss unit ? Chorus ? Delay ? Reverb ? Octave ?
That's your starting point.

Then you do a bit a research and reading here and elsewhere on the net to see what brands/make are best for you. Some people swear by Boss, some people wouldn't be caught dead with a Boss pedal, so it's whatever, see ?

And then you get real sick and get G.A.S....

I've sworn by your business before (bought a pedalboard kit), but this is just better! I've been waiting for SOMEONE to do a TB discount.

ANYWAY, we've had plenty of people go the multi -> single units route, start with what you liked before, and get a couple, and then you'll get more, trade some away, and two years and thousands of dollars trading hands later..you'll know why we consider GAS a disease! Bassmike62 hit the nail on the head

Also, to answer the thread title, if going to single effects, learn to solder (it's easy, heck, I could make a video if necessary), and buy from this guy here, pbd. I'm not affiliated or endorsed or anything, he just does great business!

lol, the talkbass discount has been in place for years and has been in my signature for at least 2 years.

We have been on this forum for a long time and really like this place so we are very happy to be able to give the forum member a little break, makes it fun for everyone that way
