What should I replace my current rig with?

Right now i'm running a qsc rmx 1450 and an rbi sansamp through an ampeg 810e. Frankly i'm sick of lugging it around, my rack is rattling apart, and the cab is getting destroyed . I want to downsize but still keep up close to my current sound. tone is not as important to me as power. I can tweek the tone as long as i have the power. I always run direct anyway to i just need to hear myself on stage. i realize that nothing is going to recreate what i currently run but the fact is, I hardly ever have to throttle my amp. I do occasionally but i'm pretty sure i could get along without all of that power. I'm looking at a couple of different amps. i'm eye-balling the trace elliot, markbass, and the ashdown. They are all 500 watt solid state with a 15". What do you think? Am i going to be comepletely disapointed if i downsize to one of these?

I love my markbass rig.
A little mark 2 for sure you cant go wrong. People around here dont seem to love their cabs so much, but I love my 2 by 10er.
I would imagine that the 410 is a noisy beast.

You haven't given a budget, but if it's a low lug quotient and gobs of power you seek, a Markbass SD800 and a pair of 4 Ohm 2x12s will "get you there with air to spare". It'll also be modular.

Probably around $1000 is what I'll be spending. The whole point of downsizing is to make load ins and load outs easier. I'm so sick of moving my huge rig. Some have said to downsize to a 410 but that is still the same scenario as the 810. still 2 guys to move a heavy cab and two guys to move a heavy head and lots of parts coming loose. i want one unit that can be moved easily and won't rattle and strip apart. Basically i'm lazy and jaded but still want big sound. i just don't want to work too hard to get it and i don't care what it looks like. if i could get away with running direct through in-ears i would. haha. i know...that is sad. :)

Why would you want one over the other? You do realize you can have both, right?

I replaced my 600w Carvin rig (head, combo cabinet, and 15-in. sub cab) with a SansAmp, Boss GT-6b, a 100-watt Ibanez kickback combo, and an AKG wireless unit, and let the PA do most of the work -- and it's the best-sounding rig I've ever had. It all fits in a Hybrid rolling case. My back feels better, too!

I laugh at the guys (present company excluded, of course) who lug three tons' worth of cabinets and amps all over the place in order to play to 50 people a night. You just don't have to do it anymore.

You don't even have to do it if you're playing in front of thousands. A giant PA and a good small amp that covers the stage and you're there. However, for some people, there's no substitute for having an 810 or 215 behind them with a massive tube amp providing the tone. I used to be one of them. Now I'm using smaller tube amps and a mni-combo. But I certainly don't begrudge the big amp toters, nor do I laugh at them. They don't mind the haul, and they're having way big fun onstage and enjoying their tone to the hilt. That's got to count for something.

Keep the RBI and get a lightweight poweramp like a QSC 1804 or a Crown XTI 1000.The QSC is 13 pounds and the Crown is 17.I switched from a boat anchor Crown to this XTI and didn't lose a thing except the weight and with my Gator shallow rack it's very easy to carry with one hand.

Lots of lightweight cabs out there.Dr Bass makes a 610 neo that would work great and LDS could build you one too for not too much money.Avatar also builds some very nice neo cabs too,the 410 goes loud and low and with a 210 on top would move some air.I use a Dr Bass 310 neo cab and it's just great, very light and just kills by itself. If I want to get too loud I add my 115 neo cab.My load in and out at the end of the night is always easy, even with both cabs, and the rig will work on any stage. You don't need heavy too get loud and sound good.
