Hey all!
Trying to immerse myself more in practicing, and doing so by learning songs I like, hard or easy.
Currently working on these right now:
Song, artist, progress in song:
What you Know - Two Door Cinema Club - have the notes down, but at 120bpm vs "big boy speed". Can play at full speed (139bpm) but pretty messy and if I miss a single note, there's no getting back. I'd say 70% to playing full speed clean. I heart this bass line and song, big personal goal to nail it.
Run - Foo Fighters - don't know the song very well, so want to listen through more a couple times to get transitions etc. Don't have the notes down yet partly because not super familiar with the song. 20% tops. Excited to get this down because my best friend's a drummer and want to rock this out with him.
Attention - Charlie Puth - yes, I know, I know. Not a real bass/bassline. But challenging for me technically, and a pop song that I don't hate, so would be fun to have in the repertoire. This one is a stretch, mainly due to lots of string/fret movement and quick transitions. 10%?
Still Feel Like Your Man - John Mayer . I actually like DeLa's style better (closer to what I like to try and play like) but this is a great song, great bassline, quite a different tone than I play, and totally a stretch goal. Haven't attempted and won't until the above three get dialled. 0%
