A lot of the threads in the Off Topic section flatout suck. This is the problem. Half of them basically comprise a title such as "OMG! How did the Police get away with this???!?" with the entire contents of the message being a url to some gutter-press news website or something. The threads are on a level of quality shared with angry right-wing blog posts written by teenagers and Alex Jones, and the tedious round-robin email chains that only my Gran now bothers to pay attention too.

"Here is a Youtube video that was circulated on every other forum two years ago."
"I'm mad as hell! Anybody else been through a messy divorce and want to tell THEIR side of the story?"

"Things used to be better than they are now. Agree or GTFO".
