What to select

I prefer to listen to metal, I prefer to play metal, and I own an SR300. I'd try to sway you to Ibanez, but it's a personal choice. Like so many have said before, play both and then make a decision.

just want to point out squier affinities can be had for 179 dollars new and are amazing values. They sound just how they should and the necks on them are great.

And you could always upgrade your squier with an active preamp and hotter pickups. There is ALWAYS someone selling Jazz pickups and preamps here on talkbass. I dont see as much for an ibanez. And For the money, the squier is where its at. Not a huge Ibanez fan here as well.

Yeah i thought of that also , and i thought it was better because in maybe i don't know let's say 6 months - 1 year i wan't to replace magnets or bridge or something . People already told me about the replacements for bridge,pickups... so i guess it's way easier to modify Squier
