Yeah thats great buddy.. i hear where you're coming from there, just wanted to see what two bass players people would like to see jamming/soloing.. and/or GROOVING together..

Y'know, I've played in three or four different projects that used 2 or more bassists, and while they were all rewarding and interesting and fun and made some really compelling music, I still agree with JimmyM! I just have zero interest in hearing two bass players jamming together on YouTube, regardless of who they are.

2 bassists jamming = yawn

bass solos = yawn

Isn't that sort of musical masturbation the reason God made guitar players?

I agree with your choices all around. Besides Tal, I'd also like to see you play with Tony Levin. A "summit" similar to the Bx3 or SMV tour with the 3 of you (Tony, Tal and Julie) would be an interesting combination that might be marketable. Add an interesting young guitarist (Oz Noy might work) and drummer (your brother would be a great choice) and you've got a kick-ass evening.

BTW - I saw on Adrian's web site that you're scheduled for Vancouver Island with the Power Trio on July 10th and 11th - I hope that more dates and extensive touring follows.

...those All-Star 'bass jams', youtube-age (Tal playing licks over a static Marcus thumb groove? Thank you, no), etc. usually cure my insomnia.
Maybe my distaste began with the Jemmott/Jaco video...?

That said: I just re-read an old Bass Player with Will Lee interviewing Chuck Rainey. Great piece...the kind of piece that made BP shine back in the day.

multiple basses can, and do work.

the thing is, it only works in some situations. go listen to some Ned's Atomic Dustbin. or some Dos. these are good examples.

and to the guy that plugged jojo mayer's nerve project above, +1. brilliant stuff, live D&B years before reprazent. saw em on dj dara's old web weekly (back when realplayer was cool) and it blew my mind.
