Specifically when touched. The neck pickup does not hum at all. The bridge pickup buzzes terribly when touched.
I have verified wiring. I have screw in terminals so its definitely not a solder joint.
Only the bridge pickup buzzes when I touch the poles. The neck does not. Touching anything else on the bass there is no buzz. Strictly when touching the poles of the bridge pickup. Otherwise bass is completely silent. If you touch metal and the noise goes away, it is RF interference that requires shielding. If you touch metal and the noise gets louder, you have a grounding issue.
Does it buzz everywhere you touch it or just on the pole pieces? If it is the latter, you need to ground the pieces.

This is a new development. I checked both pickups when I installed them for buzz when being touched. I understand it's a grounding issue but where? Why does the neck pickup not buzz when I touch the poles? That specific part has me confused.
