They look like they have come down in price a little bit recently. I paid $550 US for mine about 18 months ago, the last couple I have seen sell in Australia have been lucky to get $400 Aud (just over $300 US) and they where in absolute mint condition.
I guess some of the other Synth options have made the DI look less attractive. Its still the balls IMO though.
EDIT: Im putting a couple of things up for sale. First is a Mini Q-Tron. Haven't decided on whats going to go with it. Perhaps a Germ B:Assmaster. Im looking at picking up a Prometheus.
Everything has come down in price lately. Now's the time to buy if you have the funds....I've been doing my part to kick start the economy.
Bugger... I have done so well the last few months. Hardly bought a thing. Having my amp out of action helped a lot, but still!

Only took 3 days for my stompin' ground package to get here
IN: 9v+ cables for the moogs, 9v- replacement right angle replacement cables for some of the regular pedals (for space saving), and a 24v Y-cable for the polychorus.
I was planning on rewiring/velcro'ing everything as soon as I got the new PP2 and these cables.. but Im still in the experimentation stage for the new set up.. argh can't commit!
The two channel/oscillator set-up is a for sure, but still working out how much processing to do on each channel before joining the two signals back together. Im experimenting with parallel filtering right now with the OC2/Freqbox/LPF in one loop and polyanna/photron in the other; first impression is that it seems there is some good stuff to be had with this type of set up, but its fairly labor/time intensive setting it up and dialing the two filters in-- even with the lfo's sync'd, its not plug&play since the Moog is operating in 0/+5v roughly, and the Photron is more like 0/+.7v or so.. I also dont much theory behind what Im doing so I just doing it by ear and hoping I stumble on something. Either way, I might as well do the experimenting now before I put it all back together..

I'm heading out to pick up a new (well, used but new to me) compressor. A pretty hard to find unit at what I think is a great price.
Now I'm fighting the urge to buy a Mu-Tron Octave Divider. I want one really badly and there's one on eBay right now that's missing graphics but is at a decent price.
If I knew for sure that Malekko was actually making the Plaster Caster and it was a Mu-Tron clone I think I'd be fine with waiting. But my email to Josh asking about it never got answered so now I'm stuck with uncontrollable GAS.
Anyway, I'm ripping up my one board and building two in the very near future.

What the hell is Josh up to? It seems he's making a lot claims he has yet to even begin to follow up with. I understand the economy and everything, but geez, talk to us, man!
I doubt it has anything to do with the economy. There's a reason why whenever you hear a release date from a small to medium pedal builder/shop you should always add at least six months. There are a bunch of complications and unforeseen setbacks. In Malekko's case I'm sure it's been compounded by trying to get the outside production of the two new delays sorted out.
I think the bottom line is that guys get close to a design goal and announce it only to run into a ton of hurdles to actually get it to market. Only really large companies like Boss and MXR seem to hit deadlines pretty consistently, likely because they have more established business procedures and have jumped through all the hoops many times before.
That said, the only frustrating thing to me is the idea of mentioning a product which gets people salivating and then never giving any subsequent info.
If they aren't going to ever build it, fine. Well, very disappointing, but at least we'd know. And if it's being built but pushed way back, I can understand that too. It's the not knowing anything at all that is bothersome.
But I sure hope they build it. I really dig Malekko as a company and would like to support them, plus the Mu-Tron Octave Divider is one of the coolest pedals ever and would be perfect for my needs. Plus it would save me a chunk of cash buying a vintage one on eBay.
Tried: Fender USA P-bass Deluxe V on ebay. Didn't win...

Source Audio Tri-Mod Phaser Review thread updated with quick and dirty sloppy clip of (in my opinion) tasteful low-depth envelope phasing.
How's it working with thick strings? I heard it's not easy for bass. Been meaning to buy one though. Get your drone on.
It works well but takes some technique. I tried it after seeing Manring last year. It sounds good, especially on fretless but I kind of gave up before getting decent at using it, mostly because it isn't really useful to me for my gigs. But for the stuff ftp is doing I could see it being a great addition.
If the strings aren't moving, you have to get it very close and be careful not to budge and touch the string, though you can get it going pretty quickly. If you fret hard with your left hand and get some vibration going, the extra energy gives you a larger field around the pickup/higher off the strings to work with.
It's also small enough to hold with your pinky and ring finger, play fingerstyle and maneuver the ebow over the pickup/string to add sustain and/or swell the note- fun playing around with an envelope.
If I can get it going with long sustain/stable octaver tracking, I see myself using it while playing fingerstyle and/or hard fretting and getting long notes to modulate and manipulate-- great potential for a synth application where you're not playing lots of notes. I've been thinking about a fretless for a while, and am looking for another 5 string to replace the Jazz I sold a while ago... but I don't know if Im ready to take the plunge on the fretless yet..

I've had an Ebow+ for a few years now and it's pretty cool, but it's really just more of an experimental thing for me. I recently had my USA Cirrus 6 strung up with piccolo strings though, so the Ebow might get a little more action than it's seen recently.
It does fit pretty well with some of the stuff I play at church, but the sound guy HATES it... I have to make sure to tell him I'm using it, or he thinks it's feedback and it drives him up the wall. I've kind of given up using it at church though, he thought I was using it a couple months ago and let real feedback go unchecked. Gotta keep the sound guy happy! lol

Then you'll love the expanded harmonics mode (or whatever it's called)... even without any effects you can get some really over the top stuff going! lol
If the date works out for the next Colorado GTG, I'll bring mine so you can check it out.
