Hi y'all. New guy here from Northern Virginia. I dabbled at playing electric bass 20+ years ago when I got recruited to be the bassist in a metal band while living in Colorado. They gave me a bass and told me to figure out how to play it LOL. After 5 years of creating, recording, and playing original songs live (typically just for the bartender and the other drunk who showed up at our shows 
), work forced me to set my band days aside. The bass became a decoration and that's where it stayed for 17 years until this past summer when, for my 56th birthday, I decided that I wanted to learn to play 6-string guitar 
. I started taking lessons (because I'd never played a guitar before) and that rekindled my love for bass as well. Back in the day I played a Traben Chaos 5 which I still have. In the intervening years, I purchased a hand built cigar box bass from a friend in Texas who used to build them. For Christmas this year, I wanted something a little different so I picked up a Fender Ultra P Bass (Guitar Center exclusive) which is my absolute favorite now. I'm happy to report that I suck as bad now as I did 17 years ago.....but I still have as much fun as I used to 
. I also tickle the keyboard a little so the plan is to make my own music again. I'll be picking brains here, when the time comes, to figure out which home recording setup to purchase. Thanks, y'all!
