So it is! Sorry, I was at work. Ok, chorus (TC Chorus Flanger was the hit at the time,) and amp distortion? Not as impressed by the line in this as I am by that same part on the record. You are probably right that the accents get that little click attack from hitting the frets, he also gets his fatter bassier notes by moving to the neck pickup here an there.
Carlos should come out with a lesson dvd!

Simple "clank". Yes, that's the sound of strings hitting the fretboard. It is a common part of many legends' tone. Chris Squire. Geddy Lee. Many others.

Lower your action. Play kinda hard. Don't over think it. ;)

I think that's right about not over thinking it but you got to feel it pretty hard to get beat and rhythm out of straight 1/8ths. I never put in the time with straight 1/8ths when I was starting out. I find now that I am putting the time that it is actually quite fun and can be as challenging as you want to make it.

It's the popping clank he's getting along with the low rip and rumble that's quite unique maybe it has to do with the huge sound system and feedback or it could be his custom sims quadbuckers but everytime he hits the strings it almost sounds like a delay.

Yup, I agree. You can exaggerate that effect by striking down at the string instead of pulling through with your fingers. It sound like clanky-playing and an over-drive tube amp to me.

I'm more talking about that huge amount of smack delay you can hear to me it seems unnatural like its captured by on stage microphones instead of the soundboard recording this is from us 83 I believe and tycobrahe supplied the soundsystem for that event so I'm not sure how everything was put to tape but I've never heard bass sound like that before
