both pups on cuts very well through the mix i think. well atleast through my small experience... i dont really like the sound of a single pup when playing live. but when i use a pick, sometimes i solo to the neck pup on my jazz
 
It depends on the bass and song, but for the most part....

Fender J - Both
P Bass Lyte - Mostly mid with some bridge (80:20)
Ibanez SR885 - Blend knob slightly towards bridge (45:55)
Spector Legend 4 - Haven't gigged with it yet.
 
I couldn't vote because there wasn't a selection that applied to me. I use all three (bridge, middle and neck).:ninja:

Seriously.....I typically have all three p/u's on and cranked. When I need subtle variations in tone I tend to just alter my technique. I am a hack though so take my comments for what you will. :bassist:
