When the guitarist plays an 8-string - should you go for E0 or E1?

Decided to try a little experiment :)

IMHO, I prefer E0 for the chorus and E1 for the solo - but that’s just me :)

Bass and 8 string sound nothing alike, even though they overlap in range a lot (different string tension, scale length, string gauge, preamps, etc). In determining where to play, you’ll need to arrange the piece with the guitarist to accentuate whichever timbre serves the passage better. Hopefully, your guitarist approaches his extended range thoughtfully, and isn’t just in it for teh br00talz.
