Where do I place master volume pot?

I do, though you lose something compared to the TP, even the Jr. When I first got the NS Pulse it had 2 DCs and the TP Jr. It sounded good but there was little to no variety. Even with adjusting pickup volumes it was basically hot, grindy, mix-shredding, almost overdriven tone. I play all sorts of stuff so it was great on anything even remotely heavy, but not much else. If I played in a heavy band exclusively I wouldn't have changed anything.

I put a 40PX5 in the neck position and installed the BQC. It has added a variety that just wasn't there before. I can dial in appropriate tones for everything between the 3 band with mid sweep and blending the P with the DC in different amounts. The P also gave it much more of the classic 80s/90s Spector sound. It has lost the aggressiveness a bit though. For me that's a reasonable sacrifice for the well rounded bass it is now. The output is also 20% or so lower with the EMG pre so it's comparable to my other basses (all of which have preamps).
I have a fretless euro 5lx with 2 of the 40DC pups. I thought of replacing the neck pup with the 40PX5 but leave the TP. Do you think that will offer some variety or is the PX5 sound too similar to the DC to notice anything? (Keeping the TP)

The PX5 has much more of a passive pickup vibe than I've ever heard from any EMG. I fill in from time to time at a local blues jam as the singer and bassist for the house band. I roll the PX5 in 100% and flatten the treble boost and you wouldn't know I wasn't playing a 7ender

I hear lots of people reffering to a "passive feel". Not sure what that means. What is that hallmarked by?
A little less balanced in terms of frequency response than your typical active EMG. More honky low-mids, kinda like a traditional p bass. Not as strong is the really low response, or cutting 800k-1200k high mids, a little crisper on the top end than a traditional p pickup so still has that biting spector sound. I've found most active EMG pickups to have a very even response top to bottom.
