Double Bass Where to find endpin rod?

Hello,

I am in search of an standard sized steel endpin rod. Not the whole assembly, just the 10mm(?) steel rod. I can't seem to find a place online that sells them without the rest of the assembly, and am considering just finding a good metal supply place, but I thought I would check in here first.

McMaster Carr has many options for size and types of stainless:

416 stainless looks like a good choice, as it is easier to machine, but is stronger than the other types

They sell just the endpin rod for $41.

Alternatively, you can get this from ebay and throw out the unnecessary plug. Itll take you a month to have it sent to you, but its already notched.

You would have to call them and ask about the diameter... but it is $13.50 for just the rod, ready to use.
