Double Bass Where to get Contrabass Balalaika?

Lark in the Morning sells these. I bought a nice Canadian-made Irish Bouzouki from them about 9 years ago, but it's really hard to know what you'll actually get (in terms of quality) when you order from them.

That's the size of the domra that the guy with the Alex Eppler Group was playing when they were at the Vancouver Folk Festival years ago. Made a great sound!

I found a German site a while ago that had Pro ones for sale but I can't find the link, they were about 3K
I want on too but I think you would really want to try one first as they are BIG and pricy...

I have been to both [or are there more then two now?] of Larks stores, I would never buy anything from them...

And DB players think they have transportation problems with airlines, ferries, taxis etc.

No kidding. That baby in a hard case would take up a lot of room!
i'm sure one of you guys could engineer a detachable neck and a sort of hinge to fold the thing in half!

I like that visual...The guy's mostly using one of those long balalaika type picks but palms it a few times to play lines with his fingers - I like his style.
Don't know where else to ask... anyone know where I could get one of these? I can't seem to find any retailer that has them.
