All Thumbs are German made. Post a picture of the serial number if you want to know what year it was made. Or just look it up on their site.

Germany. Warwick didn't start making Thumb BO Pros in Korea until this year, and even then those have high polish/gloss finishes.

Also, if it has an all wenge neck it was definitely made in Germany.

I don't know for certain, but most all of the BO Warwick stuff was assembled in Ventura California at Dana B Goods Distribution. As of this year US Music Corp will be the distributors so I don't know where they are assembled now. Made in Germany, shipped to distributor destination, assembled, setup, retail outlet, and then finally to you. The neckthrough thumbs are all Germany,

I don't own this bass; someone is selling it and they emailed me these pictures (they know nothing about basses).

The pictures show some wear, but I was confused when he said it goes for $900 new...I look online and the 2011 model goes for around $2500.

So what's the maximum price you would pay to get this bass?

I have a 1996 Thumb BO (Made in Germany). I wanted some information about it so I had to send an email to Warwick Customer Support because it was too old for the Serial Number lookup widget on their web site.

$700-$900 is in-line with current used market prices, if not a touch below, and is a fair deal... the "IMHO" in that statement is the operative qualifier

I'd bet my shriveled up left nut that that neck is not wenge- AFAIK they went ovangkol around 98/99, plus the one pic that shows a bit of the back of the neck says *not wenge(a deal-breaker)* to me.

*Worth* and *MSRP* are two VASTLY different things

I sold mine for right at $900, but it was in a good bit better shape than that one and it had the hardshell case. Mine was a '99 model that had an Ovankol neck. This one is a 2000, so it probably has Ovankol too.....which I like.

Yeah, that's an ovangkol neck, not wenge... I personally prefer the ovangkol. The wenge vs. ovangkol is way overblown IMO; owned 2 Corvettes at the same time, 1 wenge and 1 ovangkol, and heard no difference in the sound. Also like the feel of ovangkol better.
