Which All-In-One Printer Should I Get?

some dick bought us epson styluses about a year ago 50 of them, two are working now.

+1 and their customer support service is anything but!

Can't even download the proper drivers from their website. Lame.
Their "Utility" application folder doesn't work well either, unless you like error bubbles where you have to restart your machine to get rid of.

Man... I need to make a decision. I need to print out charts and spreadsheets, song lists and CD covers. If I go laser, I'll kinda miss the color for the cover art. I guess I could live with that...

Do any of the laser printers have the scan option? I haven't seen any so far; but then again, I haven't really looked for that combination yet.

One of my printers is a Brother all-in-one (MFC 8500). This is the newer version Invalid Link Removed

Back around 2003 or 04 when I got it, it didn't have Mac drivers for the multi-sheet scanning. I had to purchase a program called WorkingPapers and that worked fine with it. I don't know if there is still an issue with scanning and Macs with these units. EDIT: I just looked at the specs for the MFC-8220 and they list Mac OS for printing and scanning. Might be good. Oh, multifunctions are sheet fed scanners (not bed) so depending on what you need.

For that price, I would get the lowest price Brother laser printer (I think they're like $99 after rebate) and then get a separate scanner that works with a Mac. Scansnap is pretty nice and comes with Acrobat.

I've had some very expensive HP printers and they don't seem to last. I've been using Brother printers (and I have a Brother MFC) that have been great. Definitely check out the Brothers.

I always buy Brother printers too. They offer drivers for all systems and updates for many years, they are sturdy and reliable.
I'm not very lucky with printers, Epson HP and others gave me issues. Never happened so far with Brother. Mine is an all in one from the MFC line too.

My Brother MFC died on me and I find myself in the same boat. I've come to accept that printers are disposable and am contemplating a laser all-in-one.

Canon makes excellent printing/scanning products as well. After ditching the stupid inkjet printers for good several years ago, we got a Canon duplex laser (B&W only) and couldn't be happier. The cool thing is that the ink cartridge and fuser are one unit, so you replace them together. Wireless printing is an added bonus.

EDIT: We also have an Epson scanner that's been great.
