Which amp modeller?

Im downsizing and getting rid of some of the stuff not needing.

But im also looking at getting an amp modeller to use as part of a practice amp. Preferably quite a cheap one.

Ive looked at a few;

Ampworks Bass version
Toneworks FX pedal
Behringer V-Bass Pro

anyone have any recommendations or other suggestions? Cheers - Will

You might try a SansAmp BDDI ... it isn't a modeller ... but I am using it in our headphone practices and it has some nice tones.

According to his sig, he already has a SansAmp BDDI.

Also, I recently bought a Korg Toneworks AX5B. I use it for the same thing you have in mind. In short, I am very pleased with it. It definitely fills my needs and it sounds REALLY good, IMO. I bought mine for $80.00 USD, FWIW. Good luck.

Ive got one, they are ok, but ive gotten a bit tired of the tone at home practice, it fits my bass needs perfectly in a band situation (along with the SVT) but, im wanting something with a bit more variance to it!

Cheers tho :)

Is it noisy at all?

Not that I have noticed. It has noise reduction built-in and it seems to do a pretty good job. Compared to the older Zoom BFX-708 and a new Digitech BP-80, the Korg is quietest and the most useful, IMO. Some of the reviews of the AX5B that I have read claim that it sounds too digital or synthesized, but I think that it is heads and shoulders above the other two in that respect. I would still like to try some of Zoom's newer processors, though. Good luck.

I also have an AX3B. I don't have a noise problem, but as with all multi's I've owned, I had a little trouble setting the output to unity. I have an extremely hot bass signal, and my AX3B would often clip my amp's input. I spent a while tweaking, though, and I eventually figured it out. I had to change the volume of some of the patches I was using to match the bypass, which I had to tweak to match my original signal.
