Hey guys, new to this forum and I had a question. Recently I got the Acoustic B200H head for small gigs and band practice etc. I also got the Acoustic 410 cabinet. And I found that when not even playing that loud there is a slightly buzzy hiss in the amp, not like a busted horn or teeter but just like it isn't as clear of a sound. Is it just because this isn't a very expensive cabinet so its not as clear of a sound? I like the sound of the head though... so I was thinking about just upgrading to a different cabinet and keeping the head for now, whats the best 410 cabinet I could get for around 500-600$, I play a Warwick Corvette Standard 5 if that helps. I just need a few amp suggestions to look at and research so tell me what you guys play!

Which cabinet should I get/cabinet problem

Are you running active or passive electronics?. I know when ever i ran passive i would get a ground noise at times kinda like a hiss esp if i was not touching the strings. To me though if it aint your bass then i think it is more you head then you cab that is giving you that hiss. The cab i just hissing because that is what the head is sending it in way of a signal. I would check it out before you by a new cab cause i would hate for you to get a new cab and have you find out that t was your head the whole time!!. But if by some chance it is the cab...then i would suggest trying out a used SWR goliath III 410. you can get them pretty cheep...in fact i just sold one of mine for about $500. Awesome 410 cab...killer bottom tight and clean!! Best Of luck!!Cheers Mate!!~Elliot
Passive, and yes there is a hiss just from having the amp on and stuff but there is also like a vibrating buzzy noise, its like having a busted horn but the noise just isn't as intense if that makes sense... like as if something is vibrating a little bit in the cabinet, but its not as distinct so its kinda confusing... and okay I'll look up the SWR cab, thank you very much for the input!
if i were you i would take out one of the speakers and see if there is some wire touching inside and also check to make sure that you screws are all tight cause that can cause you to get a vibrating in the cab.had it happen to me once drove me nuts so i opened it up...could not see that there were any wires touching but i still took then all and tied them together away from the speakers and it seamed to do that trick!! it dont take much some times and the solution can sometimes be a real simple one...i hope it is the case and you dont have something really wrong with the cab...just try to find anything that is lose and tighten it you might be surprised!!
Are you using a proper speaker cable to connect head to cab? I cleaned up a similar issue by upgrading to a quality 12-gauge speaker cable. (and it's cheaper than a new cab ;-)
Unless the guitarcenter employee was wrong then yeah I have the right cable, it was my first cab and head rig to get so I relied totally on him
