Which combo amp?

someone reviewed the 110 combo and claimed that its rating of 70 watts really underestimated its power. The 112 is probably similarly loud. Don't be fooled by the Hartke's 20 watt higher rating. I bet the GK 112 would win out in raw volume, and probably have better tone from soft through loud volumes.

Of your choices, I'd go Fender-- I have liked the Rumbles that I've noodled around on in the shop. Kustom (in its new form) just hasn't really earned any kind of reputation-- it's generic imported stuff IMO.

You may consider going with a separate head and cab. You can pick up the GK Backline 600 head (300 conservatively rated watts) for $300 and pick up an adequate cab for $200. Then when you feel the need to upgrade (and you will) you can do it piece by piece.
I totally resisted writing this myself. You can get a BL600 used for 200 or 225. that leaves cash for any crappy (or underrated/good) used cab around to tide you until you need a bigger/better cab.

I had one of the best combos in the world (eden metro), but got rid of mine some time ago for portability issues. It's been all heads/cabs since excepting my old peavey.

do a little hartke kickback or, better yet, one of the GK kickbacks. You'll want to keep the smaller amp for this and that after you upgrade to the ampeg gear. The rumble and kustom will be big enough to be redundant... you won't want to lug a 210 combo when you can just as easily lug your big ampeg rig.

what about the new hartke hydrive 210c. 250watts power neo speakers, built in overdrive, 7 band eq, compressor, you can always add a 1x15 later. its also a kickback cab, $650 plus the attack pedal free shipping i think also. they also make a 1x12 and a 1x15 check em out at Invalid Link Removed

I haven't played thru the newer Hartke combos, but did get to hear a HyDrive 210 last night and it was pretty impresive. Clear, hi-fi thump for days. And got very, very loud. They're a little pricey, but it really sounded hot. Nice warranty too. The owner said 3 years. Dunno if the 112 or 115 sounds as sweet.

Thanks partlyDave! I live in México sadly I only have a single valid source for gear which is an latinamarican version of eBay called mercadolibre so options are limited. Prices are very high compared to the US. If I had the connections of shipping I would make a bundle on new and used gear from the states!lol

Look at a Carvin MB10 or MB15 at the Carvin website. I have two of the MB10's. They are 200 watts at 8 Ohms or 250 watts at 4 Ohms. They are built like a tank. Inexpensive and have all the EQ and bells and whistles you could want including built in compressor, sweepable mid and DI out. Not to mention they are made in the US. The MB10 is $299 and the MB15 is $349. The MB10 only weighs 26 lbs and the MB15 weighs about 30 lbs. They are a lot of amp in a small package. There is a reason you don't see used ones very often.
