Which Dimarzio pickups for a J with TI flats?

Hello folks,

I need your help, since I have almost no experience regarding bass gear.
- Recently I've acquired a passive J that I consider a keeper
- Everything about this bass is great but the pickups: they are noisy (as all single coils are) and unpleasantly bright on top
- I want to install noiseless pickups, and where I live that equals 3 DiMarzio options only: Ultra, Model J, or Area J
- I've installed TI flats on it and I want to keep them
- I've researched these pickups, but TI flats have a distinct sound, so I have a strong fear to purchase pickups that won't pair well with them specifically, making a bass too midrangy, or too boomy, etc.
- Tone-wise I'm aiming at funk, rock, jazz - that sort of a thing

+1 on Area J if your Ti flat are fully broken in and you liking with old school J vibe.

I love the Ultra J with DR Lo rider SS.

If you want to emphasize the attack of your flats, Area J's are what you want. If you want a thick thud will less attack, the model J's would be more up your alley. Both of those I really like, just for different sounds.

The Ultra Jazz's put too much magnetic pull on the strings for me - if you want warbly tones on your lowest strings, those would be the ticket.

The Model J is a great pickup, but for something that sounds more like a 'traditional' Jazz while still humbucking the Area J is a great option. Right now I have a Jazz with TI Jazz flats and a pair of Area J pickups and I think it's a great combination.
